Pregnancy is the fertilization and development of one or more offspring and is usually 40 weeks as dated from the 1st day of a woman’s last period.1ST trimester is characterized by the baby’s growth and development of the early pregnancy; it is usually in the 1st 12 weeks after a missed period and involves transformation of the body. Hormones trigger your body to start nourishing the baby even before tests and physical exams can confirm you are pregnant .Knowing what physical and emotional changes to expect during the first trimester can help you face the months ahead with confidence.
1st MONTH
This is the initial stage of pregnancy and characterized by the development of the amniotic sac that forms around the fertilized egg and is essential in cushioning the embryo throughout the pregnancy. The placenta a round flat organ that transfers nutrients from the mother to the baby and transfers waste from the baby develops during this stage .A primitive face of the baby takes form the, mouth, lower jaw and throat develop and at the end of the first month the baby is around 6-7mm long the size of a grain.
2nd Month
The 2nd month is characterized by the development of the facial features; each ear begins as a little fold of skin at the side of the head. Tiny buds that will eventually grow to arms and legs start developing eyes also begin developing in the 2nd month. The brain spinal cord and other neural tissue will be well developed, the digestive tract will be completely developed and the embryo begins moving though the mother cannot feel it. By the end of the 2nd month the baby will be 1 inch long weighs about 9.45g.
3rd Month
The baby will be fully formed by the end of the 3rd month of pregnancy, the baby will have full arms hands feet toes fingers and can be able to open and close its fists and mouth .The reproductive organs begin to develop but can be difficult to determine the gender of the baby, the third month is also characterized by the circulatory and urinary system s of the baby functioning, at the end the baby will be 3-4 inches and weighs about 28g.
SUMMARY
During the first trimester a woman will constantly complain about morning sickness and nausea will seem to stem up. Swollen and tender breasts start appearing due to hormonal changes and they may feel fuller and heavier. Increased urination will be a constant thing especially at night.
